Very happy that my vision is coming to pass in such double quick time...less than 7 days into the new year. By the way, just to recount, 2008 has really been a tough and challenging year for me personally, yet also a year filled with surprises and well....new responsibilities..let me organize them:

Jan 08: Received notification of a change in zone (very sad yet excited)

Feb 08: Took over a new group in Woodlands (Blk 700+, XW204). This is real challenge, used to visit only 17 blocks, now 100++ blocks!! PTL!

Mar 08: XW204 grew from base of 15 to 25, with 11 NCs. Amazing given tat tis is not any big day month!!

Apr 08: Took over as XW transport head. With 3 Sat reg bus. Added one myself for Sun (North Bus). This is a new challenge. Has always been what I really wanted to do!

Joined CCH CG. Right on the day God told me - 30th April.

May 08: Took over as XW manpower IC. This is totally unexpected! Anyway a great way to prove myself and test my capacity and leadership capabilities.

Jun 08: Took over XW208, the 2nd Woodlands group. Another of the unexpected! This is like..WOW!! with this, now I have 30 kids as base and over 200 blocks. Vision of multiplication came to pass - From 17 to over 200 blocks, from 10 kids to 30 kids!

Jul 08: Both groups grew by double digit %. Finally +'ve growth. And its both groups growing despite all the work and so on.

Aug 08: Took part in 2nd Children's Musical - Special. As a backstage helper. Never done that before, this is a new challenge. hmm..Amazing

Sep 08: A month to forget. Both groups mysteriously dropped in attendance. hmm..wondering why still. This month is a traditionally low month. Must break this curse.

Joined the ops team. Been wanting to do ops for quite a while

Oct 08: 1st Children's day as transport head, manpower IC. Saw my group hit 60 in attendance. My 1st time doing big day ops as well. Another dream come true.

Nov 08: Special Musical 2nd round - At....Asia Conference!! wooooah...haha..=) finally can act on stage, though only as cleaner...more like stage help bah.....hee..=)

Dec 08: 2nd big day as transport head, manpower IC. Did big day ops. Zone buses hit record high - 11 buses. Regular buses hit 9, a 3-fold increase in just.....8 months! Amazing!

Hit 80 children. New heights, a lot of new kids.

My vision for 2009 - Growth & Discipleship -- Expansion. Already something greater is coming up. Now holding 1/3 of Woodlands, soon it'll be half. How I love it. I love challenges! Of course, 1 thing I wanted by my 24th Birthday is to get attached! Well, see how God leads though....More importantly I wanna see greater growth this year in XW204, XW208, buses, manpower. I wanna train up more leaders to help our zone grow.

Running the ultimate vision - To raise up the next generation of young leaders who will take Asia by storm!!

Beginning of an opening

November is going to be very exciting!! Other than that, November will be the starting of our Arise & Build, the building fund!! We're gonna raise 24 Million dollars! I know we can do it again! haha...=) anyway, more than that, this November will be a month of which I will be either extremely broke, or starting to accumulate wealth. That's because I will not be working, but I will be trying to set up an online business here. Do support me ok? Will update all of you my URL of my business again. However, I think most probably, I will be selling my stuff on EBay, so do look out for all my updates! haha..=) thanks for your support, especially that "special" one. To be honest, the past 2 days I haven't been feeling too well in terms of emotions due to some issues, which I thought I've settled yet it surfaced again. However, unlike the past, I have someone to share it to. What Pastor preached is really true, when you share your sorrows with someone, your sorrows are halved, when you share your joy, your joy is doubled! Thank you so much.

Praise God for all that He has done in my life. It's really touching to know that the seed that I've sown in them for the past 7 months has budded. I believe this will be the beginning of a new and exciting journey for them with God. I truly believe that in the next 7 to 10 years I'll see a CGL or a ministry leader being rise up out of the 15 of them. It's really so touching right at that moment.

Back to today, it was all fun until when I reach home and sent a report. I was petrified to hear that an issue that is supposed to have been settled last week suddenly resurfaced again. This is so frustrating, especially when I've done all I can to resolve the issue, someone just brought it up again and causing another unnecessary hoo-ha. Thankfully, this is settled again immediately, but i do really feel sick and tired of all these unncessary things happening. But thank God, throughout all these I've someone who is willing to hear me complain and sulk, and also offered me solutions and advices. I'm so so gratified to have this person with me. Really can't do without this person (Laugh Out Loud). Now I'm feeling much better and become more and more positive. All thanks to this person (Love you lots).

Power of Confession

I believe all Christians know this, that life and death lies in the power of OUR tongue. However, not many will really give it much thougts, after all, some of them are just shallow Christians who just wants to live a mediocre life. Over the years, i've learnt this verse in the bible to be so true. Many of what we say has a direct effect on another person. With positive words we build up another person's self-image, self-esteem, his/her worldview and so on. With negative words, it will bring about a direct 180-degree opposite effect. In addition, what we say has the power to make things come to fruition. For example, i've said that i want to be a transport head of a zone, and this year i'm made to be transport head. I've also said that i want to be a Manpower IC, and this very same year i'm also made to double up as Manpower IC. Now, i'm confessing that i want to have a good girlfriend, and if this girl is reading this blog, i want to say i love you. I'm confessing and believing that although there's a difference in our age, but we shouldn't let it be a defining factor on our feelings, or more so our destiny. Sometimes we feel that certain age gap is no good or what, but what we really need to understand is that age is just nothing more than a commodity that you can't stop or change, and i'm sure you won't want commodities to define your entire life.

Furthermore, this girl that i liked said that she cannot be emotionally attached. What i want to tell her here, if she's reading, is that she can be emotionally attached, if she do have the feelings for me, but what she can't and shouldn't have now is a physical BGR, something of which i totally understand and agree.

To this girl i like - don't be limited by what others say, NOT even by your leaders. Seek God for answers always. Don't be controlled by the words of others, NOT even your leaders, but seek God and let God direct your paths. If you really have feelings, let it out and let it show and confess it. Don't hide it and deceive yourself. Love ya

Impact of Children

Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! so long didn't blog...feels a bit strange but...haha..i'm fine...i'm just so happy that recently, i've just known a person, her name? for me to know for you to find out! when i first saw her, she's a young, bubbly cheerful girl who just wants to serve. Oh i tell you, this girl really has passion, and lots of it, for the children. She is someone i would say, a completely devoted Children's Church teacher. What's even more amazing is that she's only 16 this year and already, she has great dreams! I admire people of such calibre. i must say that, well, she's the next generation leader. However, what many of you, i think, might not have guessed, is that this girl has had her own personal problems, some of which will just blow your mind off. She's not as able to freely express her own emotions to people as some, but she's determined to change that. When i did bus with her the first time, i saw her really engaging the children on the bus, something many new teachers nowadays fail to do. She even made lasting relationships with them, for example, my XW204 kids, Stephanie and Elizabeth, Casey and Caryn. These kids, especially, Casey and Caryn, has just join CHCC for 1 month, but, due to the relationship that this girl has built with them, they are now SUPER regulars, with Casey even quickly integrated into the CG! Praise The Lord. Looking back, this girl said, it is the love of these children, who showered her with gifts and love messages, that help her overcome her problems, especially that she's now more able to express her feelings to the people around her. Praise The Lord.

Looking back, indeed many times we feel that children cannot amount to anything great. Maybe we just need to take a backseat and observe and feel. These children, though might not be able to give you tangible material things, but what they can give is everlasting, unforgettable, and something of great healing power.

To this girl - continue to shine for Jesus in whatever you do. Live your life right and know that you've truly impacted leaders of the next generation. This week, I learnt about what a REAL man entails, what a REAL man really must do, and, who a REAL man really is. I believe a REAL man should be someone who has a deep relationship with God, one who always long for His presence. Pastor Tan's sermon on this really has impacted me and pushed me up to the next level.

Turning now to ministry, I must say that this week I am really really happy. For the first time, my 2 groups have hit a total of 45 children!! Clap Clap Clap...!!! Although fell short of the initial 51 forecasted, I am really happy because I knew my team (My F3s) have achieved something great yet! I believe this coming week we can break through the 50 mark. Pray together with us! haha...today I'm rather frustrated too. With the long journey of the Yishun Bus to the kids' not at the pick up point and having to wait to being late in reaching church, I must say that it takes me some crucifixion of my flesh just to keep my frustration in check. Though not really well checked, but quite a feat to check it.

Something for my F3s, you're the best team members I've ever had. Let's continue to work together for a greater breakthrough in the Woodlands areas!!

Having a sense of purpose

Hi there, after a long 7-month hiatus, I'm finally back to this blog...haha...=) In February this year, Glordia was promoted to be a director for a new enrichment center. As such, to reduce her workload, her zone, the biggest in Children's Church, was broken up into many smaller groups and was put into charge of various Zone Supervisors. This was when Xinwei was promoted to be a Zone Supervisor In-training. In the announcement made somewhere in mid-Jan, I was told I'll be going to the new XW Zone alone. When I heard that, I was excited yet saddened. Excited because I'll be facing new challenges in the new zone. Saddened because I'll be "detached" from one of my most favorite ZS and discipler and friend -- Glordia. This month, or to be more precise, today, marks the 4th month I'm in XW Zone. Inside this 4 months, I would say that it quite a journey for me. From taking over a larger group to being appointed as Manpower IC and Transport Head, it is, and will be, always a good challenge for me. With close to 40 children in 2 groups, 6 buses and 17 workers, I would say that it's always a challenge for me to plan everything well, and meeting various deadlines as well. These appointments and new groups really pushed me to the next level, forcing me out of my comfort zone, putting me into an entirely new dimension of my service to God. This week my attendance (I believe) will be good again. Revival has been happening in both my groups!! That's something I can't achieve without God, and I believe God will continue to pour His Spirit, anointing, passion, love, mercy and grace upon these 2 groups. Please pray and believe together with me that by the end of this year, 2008, my 2 groups will hit a total of 90 children on a regular basis!!

If you think that's all, I tell you, there's more!! God is really using me like never before and I'm so grateful eternally for that! Recently, 3 young person was put under my discipleship group! I refer to them as my F3s (Dunno if they like this name). F stands for Fantastic, Flourishing, Fabulous (and they really are!!), Flexible. I can tell you one truth....the 3 of them are REALLY Fantastic people. I really love them to the core!! haha...=) They are the 3 whom I know that will become future Christian leaders who will do EVEN greater works that I do...so....I'm always giving my all and my best to them....And them only!! If you are curious to know who are they....well....haha...not gonna tell you...=)

- David

Down but not out!

This entire week there has been lots of ups and downs. The upside? Haha, having a holiday break that I can finally enjoy some rest time for myself and my body, which has been working so so hard. The downside? My VG attendance dropped to rock bottom, out of a possible 26, only 5 came for service. For the faint-hearted, this will sound depressing, especially ever since you have been plowing and plowing tirelessly and sowing seeds week after week, month after month on the same ground. Well, but for me, after hearing what Glordia said, I believe that revival is going to come real soon! And I'm certainly very excited about that, especially since CHC is moving 1400 people back to Jurong West Church premise! That will spell revival for my VG as well! What a time to live, and what an exciting time to live for Jesus! Amazing! With the moving back to Jurong West for service, I'm well and truly convinced that God is once again stirring up a revival in the land of Jurong West! Thank you Jesus!

Beginning of a New Chapter

Wow! So fast! Isn't it amazing? It's been 2 years since I last touched my own blog! What a time it has been for me personally. Everything in life runs quicker and quicker. I had completed my National Service in February 2007, finished my School Of Theology (Bible School), being accepted into the January intake of SIM School Of Business (Business Analytics), currently working as a temporary job worker with Hong Lam Marine PTE LTD, with a 3-month contract, getting more and more involved in Children's church, and lastly, holding a group of about 30 children! Isn't it just blow your mind off? Just a short 24 months and so much has changed. Looking back, whatever happened in the past is well and truly a learning period for me. Almost everything that has happened in the past, in my bias opinion, is purely to train me and to build me up as a person, a church leader. Truly, what a revelation it has been for me. I felt so great, so happy. Words alone cannot express my amazement at what God can do and has done in my life. HE has done exceedingly, abundantly above all that I can imagine or think of. And really, what a turn around. I was an insecure person in the past, always trying to seek affirmation from everyone, trying to please everyone, and, afraid of being rejected, I became a "yes" person, everything people asks me to do I'll say yes, regardless of the workload I already had. This had really drained my energy out fully. I felt so tired trying to please everyone. However, throughout the past 2 years, I have learnt that what I had done is basically useless. I cannot please everyone, simply because they are humans after all. All I should do, or should have done, is actually just to please God. Just do things that pleases Him. Looking back, I'm always asking myself, why am I so stupid, pleasing everyone? Hopefully what I have gone through would encourage all you readers. God bless you richly.

It's Teacher's Day again...!!

Wow...!! 1 year has passed and it's teacher's day again...!! What greater joy than to celebrate with my loved ones, that is, my Children's church kids! You may ask: Why is Teacher's Day so significant to you? My answer to you is, Teacher's Day is a day that allows yourself to see and reflect what you have or had done in their lives! Well, for me, this 12 months had to a certain extend being very significant to me. My way of approach to kids had changed from being too laxed to somewhat regimental, of course allowing grace to flow out of me. I have learnt how to love the kids even more, more than what i could not even dream of. It also allowed myself to see God's purpose for me more and more vividly and I was so ascertained that I was walking right with God. This 12 months had also allowed me to learn to love God more and more, love His word more and more as well. In fact, I was reading the bible even when i am in Changi Naval Base, amid the busy-ness that I was going through, Praise the Lord! I'm really thankful that God has guided me during the last 12 months and I am looking for another 12 more exciting months ahead of me. Be sure to catch up with my blog!!

1 year's absence

Quite some time did not write my own blog already (well, it's very long actually). I've been very inspired recently by King David in the Bible in the book of psalms. He always looked to God when he's in trouble, whether emotionally or physically, as a king or when he was escaping from King saul. The approach that King David took is, i feel, of the utmost importance, especially in these last days that we lived in! Be decisive of which path you want to take, whether the path of the darkness of this world or the path of light of God's realm. I'm glad that I can have sovereignty over my own choices and that I have chosen to take the path of light, living for God and Him only I will serve. Never be taken aback by the circumstances in your life. Look to God, do not look to men, because God will always deliver you out of every single situation, situations even men would have given up hope. So then, make a decision to stick by God, live everyday by the Bible principle and you'll find that your path will be very much well guided. For God says that He will direct our paths when we walk in His will.

Internet Chat...

Haiz...A levels is nearing...just 2 more days away...But thank God...I found my ICQ contact lost back!! What a year it has been for all the teachers. Not just only the teachers in our mainstream schools, but also those in City Harvest Children's Church!! We all have worked together earnestly throughout the year for the kids. Though we might have met with some discouragement, but there certainly are lessons that we can take from them. Hopefully, in the coming year, We all will be able to grow from glory to glory, from faith to faith, from strength to strength. Let's all strive for the future of our children!!!

About The Service on 27/8/2004

Wow....!!! Another great week....!! Well, this week's service really speaks to us. Indeed, we need to avoid ways that doesn't help us cure our hurts. In fact, like what Pastor Derek says, that the more we hide, we escape, we suppress our hurts, the more resentful we'll become, because we tend to accumulate them and vent them out on others, often causing grievous damage to other's, physically or materially. So, let's all share our hurts with one another and pray for each other and encourage each other. Amen..!!!

I've Learnt

I've learnt in my Cell Group yesterday about the importance of prayer. It's so life transforming that I have to admit that the words pierce through my heart. I believe that everyone needs prayer, because prayer WORKS!! We must also pray until something happens! Just like what Pastor Kong says: We've got to push ourselves, DO NOT let our flesh controls us but instead we should be defiant and tell the devil to BACK OFF and stop trying to influence me. I think what makes a spiritual christian is prayer. Holy Spirit is "Prayer-phile", meaning that Holy Spirit likes prayer. So why don't we all pray? After all, it takes more energy to work, to play, to study. than to pray right?

My Biography

I am rather a Dominant guy with of course a "D" personality. I am also a devout Christian who never fails to attend church service in City Harvest Church and Cell Group Meetings, one of the highlights of CHC. I like to play soccer, but that does not mean that I am fit! I suffer from migraine since I was primary 5 and had since been in and out of hospital seven times in the past eight years. My life is full of ups and downs. I scored a distinction for science during my secondary 2 year. I was thrilled and full of joy as this is the first and only I scored anything better than a B grade for science. However, my studies took a drastic turn. my secondary 3 year was a Roller Coaster ride. I scored the highest in my class for almost every single subject at the beginning of the year. However, ever since I came back from the Outwrd Bound Course in March, I became very lazy and refused to study, I managed to scrap through secondary 3 and in secondary 4, I scored badly for my "O" Levels. However, I did managed to do a 3-year Pre-U course. I was disappointed, but never gave up. How will I fare for my upcoming "A" Levels? Well, stay tuned.
